Why Choose the Law Offices of Philip R. Brown?
The reason we can be the lawyer for such a diverse range of clients, in a wide variety of cases is the legal background of Philip R. Brown. Although Phil Brown became a full time civil litigation attorney in 1985, he became a Hawaii attorney after moving to Honolulu in 1993.Before becoming a lawyer in Hawaii, Brown worked for two of the most prominent law firms in the nation. Upon graduating from Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1985, Mr. Brown worked for Hunton & Williams, one of the largest law firms in America. He then joined the litigation section of the New York law firm Reid & Priest (now Thelen Reid & Priest). As a New York lawyer, Mr. Brown represented corporate clients focusing primarily on commercial litigation. In 1993, Mr. Brown moved to Hawaii joining its largest firm, Carlsmith Ball. In 1995, famed Hawaii Plaintiffs lawyer Dave Schutter asked Mr. Brown to pursue the claims of approximately 4,000 plaintiffs in a large commercial litigation. After two years, the case resulted in a $39 million settlement for the Plaintiffs. In October 1997, Mr. Brown started his own office.
